Birding Tours

Spring Birding Shuttles to the tip of Long Point (May to mid June)

Over 390 different bird species migrate through Long Point every spring in roughly the same volume as Point Pelee National Park. Land Access is restricted so bird watching opportunities have been limited, that is until now! Get up early and shuttle our 24ft zodiac boat to the tip of Long Point as the sun is rising. Bring your binoculars and add to that life birding list. While out on the tip be sure to visit with the volunteers and biologists at the Long Point Bird Observatory Tip research and banding station. While on tour enjoy a catered lunch courtesy of Three West Trends Bistro (a salad and wrap made from local ingredients).

This 5.5-hour expedition runs daily from April and into June. Tours depart from the Turkey Point Marina pier which is the shortest distance to the 42km long sand-spit. Long Point is designated a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve. It is one of the largest freshwater sand-spits in the world and is home to a diverse array of wild landscapes, rare & endangered species of plant and wildlife and has a long rich history which includes tales of piracy, war, bootlegging, shipwrecks, murder and mystery. It's easy to see why some consider Long Point to be southern Ontario's last frontier! Please remember to dress for the weather!
