Long Point Birding Trail

The wetland at the Big Creek National Wildlife Area is a great bird watching area.

The Long Point Birding Trail is a virtual guide to the top birding sites in Norfolk County. This trail initiative was completed by the Long Point Bird Observatory (LPBO), Bird Studies Canada, and the Long Point Biosphere Reserve Foundation.

The Long Point Birding Trail includes site markers at 43 of the best birding sites in Norfolk County, interpretive signs, brochure and a web-page featuring a user-friendly map to the region. It is based on A Birding Guide to the Long Point Area, by Ron Ridout, which is an essential companion to navigating the birding trail and is available for purchase on the Bird Studies Canada website. To check out the Long Poing Briding Trail visit: www.birdscanada.org/longpoint/index.jsp?targetpg=lpbt

The Long Point Birding Trail is supported by the Ontario Trillium Foundation (An agency of the Government of Ontario), and the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation.
